Well I will write my opinion here, too.
I wrote about the level range in a different threat, only summary: I don’t think they will raise the level cap.
Well I don’t want to blame anyone here, especially not those Italian online magazine guys, nothing is proven, and I am not convinced that this article is true. In my opinion there are to much illogical things and one big question: Why would Blizzard (or Vivendi) give their best kept secret to an Italian Internet Magazine?

First of all: It's not an online magazine. It's a printed magazine and you'll even find photos of the article in this forum. But apart from that I am pretty sure that most game magazines do have this information about the expansion. But they didn't leak. The german magazine GameStar for example announced that their upcoming issue (which is due on October 29th I think) will reveal lots about the expansion. And some guy from an (American?) online magazine said that he likes the new race which he has seen a preview of. Bottomline: Blizzard has given the same information to journalists throughout the world.
/bye all UD friends
/bye Allot of players of the Horde
Now there are prolly allot more but I have too little time to write em all down (and the factor of me being lazy exists aswell).
Eh, if there was a year's worth of quests leading up to the split, then it's not as if folks wouldn't know. Plus, it would simply be a case of starting an alt of the appropriate race, if you wish to remain in the same faction.

As stated, it's a print magazine, which just also happens to have an online presence, which they use to entice folks to buy their print version. What essentially happened is, that the printed mags hit the stores before the agreed upon date (Blizzcon), thus some were sold, hence the word got out.
It's no different from certain political announcements in other parts of the world. Press gets it early, due to printing issues, but they agree not to let the cat out of the bag, until said government makes the formal announcement. Those who do break said agreement (there's a specific term for it, but I just cannot recall it right now), will be left out of the loop next time round.
Game companies and Comp Mags do the exact same thing really. And the exact same penalties apply.
Or was this a veiled innuendo of how it is improper for a US developer/publisher to give info to an European media source?? If, so then I may as well point out to you that country bashing isn't allowed on these boards, anymore than personal attacks are.. Neither admins or mods wish to see the forums here turn into their official blizzard counterparts, where information shared with the public on another continent leads to complaints by US customers.
I find these notes very unlikely. While a lot of people seem to comment things like the new areas and flight I would rather point to the simple line stating that "level cap has been raised to 70".
Who on earth wants to do months of Molten Core raiding to get their epic level 60 sets when they can get higher level gear? I think its very unlikely that the level cap is raised unless they remake epics in a way where its stats will grow as your level is growing as well (a good idea actually). Getting the best gear is all about work, and end game content is all about Molten Core and Blackwing Lair. As a hardcore player you will spend ages in these instances alone, so raising the level cap can ruin a lot of the work they put into this "end game content".
However, what they can do is make a separate leveling through hero classes, something similar to your pvp ranking. The "hero level" can give you advantages of a different type - but I dont have any idea what that could be.
Sadly to many people who don't like whats in this magazine it seems like its true considering other magazines coming out have the same info and are being pulled off the shelves just as fast untill Blizzcon.

You do realize of course, that both item sets and instances are divided into tiers, yes?? Well, neither the current purples or the BWL are the end all be all of their type. Just as you got tier 1 items from say Onyxia, you get tier 2 items from Ragnarros and Nefarian. Well, there are three more tiers to go iirc.
Was doing Onyxia a waste of time?? Not really, it got folks ready for the next challenge. No different with the current instances and the ones to come after that. Hence the increase in the level cap. Will this trivialize previous achievements?? Only, if you allow them to be trivialized. No different from the folks who beat Onyxia before she was made more docile. Same will apply to those who beat Ragnaros, Nefarian etc etc etc.

Diablo 2 expansion pack... ;) Sadly adding it into the game made all the constant grinding for previous items in the basic game rather irrelevant - the expansion items were infinitely preferable in most cases...
I think Molten Core and Blackwing Lair are, at the moment, end game instances. That said the expansion will see less 40 man raids and probably more 15 or 20 man ones which is Blizzard catering for the more casual gamer - the 90% of people who get to 60 and want more solo content rather than gigantic guild raids... If they want to wander into MC at level 70 and see what the fuss was about - they can. Those hard core raiders and grinders can take consolation in their possession of nifty epics in the meantime.

Yes, I agree to some extent here. I see already people skipping the blue sets completely now in favour of the epic sets. And I do know that the epic sets are divided into tiers. The 2 tiers we have now are both level 60. I think Blizzard just have to be careful so that people wont be skipping a lot of the so called end game content because they can just level up doing silly or repetitive quests and then do lvl 70 instances which drops epics far better than MC/BWL now. And making the new end game content even harder than MC/BWL sounds a bit insane too, because it will then take people a year alone just to get a full set. Its hard as it is getting a full set in MC/BWL. I think they need to focus on more interesting and challenging questing instead. Something that will gain you something else than gear, maybe some special abilities. Back to the hero classes again, they can introduce some hero quests which are solo instances, but are very very hard, so that the ones that do fulfill these solo quests are true heroes in the world of warcraft. Generally they also need to add a more visual difference between players. I often feel there is little difference between a lvl 10 and a lvl 60 when you look at them. Even their gear is built on the same meshes. Epics need to shine more and all that.

i agree with all of that except the whole level 10/60 items thing
you need to turn on all your graphics . they usually DO shine a lot more.

Well - some of them.... a lot of the pre 60 stuff ((such as the warlock, priest and mage craftable robes)) are simply old mesh/textures with new abilities...

Yes thats what i feel too. I have a good graphics card with all details on, and I still feel the difference between a lvl60 and a lower level isnt that great. It would be cool to see some emphasis, e.g. some mark on your armor if you have killed Onyxia/Ragnaros/etc. The titles above people could also have the symbol for honor instead of the title. I can hardly rememeber the order of these titles, the symbols would probably be easier to understand (the ones that pop up when you do a honorable kill).
